Autistic Kid with Perfect NCAA Bracket Can Easily Be Faked

No one is calling 17-year-old Alex Hermann a liar, but CBS Sports’ “Bracket Manager” does make it impossible to verify that he correctly called all 48 NCAA tournament winners—and also makes it easy to forge a perfect score.

Skepticism has been quietly building ever since the story broke—and subsequently reached every news outlet in the county—that a teenager with autism had accomplished the lifelong dream of degenerate gamblers everywhere.

Sad day today, Healthcare passes, yet another hold the government has on it's people

It is nuts but even with the majority of American against this reform bill , the people that work for the people, think the people are stupid and pass it anyway:

, House Democrats cemented a victory for President Obama with a 219-212 vote for the Senate's massive health insurance overhaul.

Thirty-four Democrats voted against the bill. Obama will likely sign it on Tuesday. He was expected to make remarks after the House wrapped up its activities.

The House still has to vote on a "reconciliation" bill aimed to "fix" provisions in the Senate bill that House Democrats opposed but viewed as better than nothing.

The bill's passage was incumbent upon pro-life Democrats

Healthcare vote

As many of you know, today is the day they will vote on the Healthcare bill. Personally there are some things I like, there are some things I hate. We cannot afford it now and it is way too lengthy and too many open ends. But those that vote for it, think they know what ius best for me. they do not, my freedom is dissapperaing every day and this is just one more piece of my life that involves government. Our forfathers would not be so pleased with where USA is now...

More news:

Democratic Rep. Bart Stupak of Michigan, a strong opponent of abortion rights, has decided to vote in favor of the House version of the health care bill despite his objections to its language on abortion.

"We've been able to come up with an agreement to respect the sanctity of life on health care reform," Stupak said at an afternoon press conference. He said he had always supported health care reform but could not support the package unless he was absolutely confident that there would be no public funding for abortion.

The moment you may or may not have been waiting for is almost here: Rod Blagojevich on “The Celebrity Apprentice.”

NBC’s unscripted television series where people vie for a job working for real estate mogul Donald Trump — or in this case, raise money for charity — returns with a two-hour season premiere at 8 p.m. today on WAND-TV (Channel 17).

Blagojevich, who was impeached and removed as governor in 2009, faces trial on federal corruption charges later this year.

He’s been prominent in NBC’s promotion of the show’s new season, reminding viewers he’s heard Trump’s catchphrase “You’re fired” before.

Navy Advancement Center NKO Web site, One-stop Shopping for Sailors

By Ed Barker, Naval Education and Training Command Public Affairs

PENSACOLA, Fla. (NNS) — Sailors preparing for advancement examinations are getting a new tool to make their quest easier: Navy Knowledge Online (NKO) Web pages will begin offering links to the material in advancement bibliographies.
The Navy Advancement Center (NAC) pages will provide links directly to exam bibliography documents, offering virtual ‘one-stop shopping’ for Sailors who previously had to track down numerous publications and references in order to get ready for exams.

"We plan to launch the Advancement Center NKO pages in early 2010, making the information easily reachable for most Sailors," said Kirk Schultz, operations and analysis division head for the Navy Advancement Center in Pensacola. "All of the Professional Military Knowledge (PMK) links will be available for each rank and rating, and we’ve targeted the phase-in for occupational reference links to start in March."

These PMKs include references such as: NAVEDTRA 14325, Military Requirements, Basic (BMR) and NAVPERS 15665, U.S. Navy Uniform Regulations.
The PMK links were made available in August 2009, but Sailors could only reach them through the NAC Web site. It was up to the individual Sailor to track down all of the occupational reference bibliographies (BIBs), and that could be a significant research task. For example, the March 2010 mass communication specialist E-4 exam lists 32 occupational references and eight separate PMK references. Occupational references include: (For master-at-arms) NTTP 3-20.6.29M, Tactical Boat Operations and OPNAVINST 3591.1 Small Arms Training and Qualification. (full story)

It's all about the Oscars Tonight, Here's the winners

Wondering who the big winners were who won at the Oscars 2010?

First award of the night was for the Best Supporting Actor role. Oscar-nominated actress Penelope Cruz ("Nine") presented the nominees: Matt Damon, Woody Harrelson, Christopher Plummer, Stanley Tucci, and Christolph Waltz. The Oscar went to Waltz for his sinister Nazi Colonel performance in "Inglorious Basterds".

Next up was the Oscar for Animated film and as expected the Pixar film "Up" won, defeating other movies including "The Princess and The Frog" and "Coraline". Ryan Bingham and T Bone Burnett won the Oscar for original music for the film "Crazy Heart". Soon after, the best original screenplay award was taken by "The Hurt Locker". "Star Trek" picked up the award for "Best Makeup" prestend by Ben Stiller who came out dressed as one of the blue Na'vi aliens from James Cameron's "Avatar".

Comedian and actress Mo'Nique won the Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Precious", thanking the academy for voting by performance and not politics. Mo'Nique was emotional yet made a strong acceptance speech thanking her husband for urging her to forgo what's popular so she could do what was right. Looking at her husband she said "baby you were so right."

Best Actor and Best Actress were presented by former/current co-stars of the various nominees. These included the likes of Stanley Tucci, Colin Ferrel, Oprah Winfrey, and Michelle Pfeifer. For the Best Actor, Jeff Bridges ("Crazy Heart") finally won his elusive Academy Award, after being nominated five times. His first nomination came way back in 1971 for "The Last Picture Show". Bridges was ecstatic with the win and received a standing ovation from the audience of his peers. Best Actress was given to Sandra Bullock for her role in "The Blind Side" just moments after a tribute presentation speech from her former co-star Forrest Whitaker. Bullock beat out 15-time nominee Meryl Streep.

In the biggest announcements of night that many were awaiting, Kathryn Bigelow won the Best Director award for "The Hurt Locker". She dedicated her award to the men and women serving around the world and giving their lives for the safety of our country. Bigelow had just made her way backstage when the Best Picture Oscar award went to "The Hurt Locker" as well. Members of the cast and crew celebrated triumphantly on stage as they accepted the final award of the night. Many had been predicting it would be a potential Oscars battle between "Hurt Locker" and "Avatar" and each movie won several awards on the night. However, "Hurt Locker" took the top prize with its almost documentary-style story of a US bomb squad's work over in Iraq. As the show closed out near midnight, Steve Martin noted that the show took so long tonight that the movie "Avatar" now takes place in the past.

Here's the rest

Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz ("Inglorious Basterds")

Best Supporting Actress: Mo'Nique ("Precious")

Best Actor: Jeff Bridges ("Crazy Heart")

Best Actress: Sandra Bullock ("The Blind Side")

Best Director: Kathryn Bigelow ("The Hurt Locker")

Best Picture: "The Hurt Locker"You can check out all of the rest of the Oscars 2010 winners at the official Oscar website. Congratulations to all of those who won, we look forward to a 2010 filled with more great movie entertainment! Below is the trailer for "Logorama", winner of the Best Animated short film.

Italian Doctor Finds MS Breakthrough

My wife has MS, I wanted to share this:

Italian Doctor Finds MS Breakthrough

MS MAY BE RELATED TO VASCULAR ISSUES

An Italian doctor has made a breakthrough in the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis with what he says is a fairly simple procedure that is closely related to the medical art of angioplasty.
The doctors' wife was diagnosed in early 1995 with MS after several years of severe issues related to the illness. She was suffering from vertigo, chronic fatigue and vision loss.
The doctor spent an immense amount of time researching the disease only to become convinced that he was not dealing with an auto-immune illness but a disease that seemed to be focused around one particular artery that leads in and out of the brain. As a result, the doctor performed a type of arterial widening which immediately releieved most of the symptoms of his partners' MS.
According to Dr. Paolo Zamboni, he says "I am confident that this could be a revolution for the research and diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.”

Since then, the doctor has performed this surgery on nearly 100 persons in his native Italy, with results that could easily be classed as nothing short of stellar. According to those results more than 73% of persons who have been treated have walked away with no symptoms remaing of MS in their systems.

This to me is worth investigating here in Canada and I would encourage all MS sufferers to seek further information from their family doctors on how they may be able to participate in the future study of MS that is taking place in Hamilton this year. You may contact Mark Haacke, an adjunct professor at McMaster University in Hamilton for further information.

Some MS Facts And Figures

•Women are more than three times as likely as men to develop MS.

•MS can cause loss of balance, heat sensitivity, impaired speech, extreme fatigue, double vision and paralysis. The disease is characterized by lesions on the brain, a result of the breakdown of myelin, the protective covering wrapped around the nerves of the central nervous system.
•The most common treatment for MS is corticosteroids. Steroids reduce inflammation at the site of new demyelination, lessening symptoms.
•MS was first identified and described by French neurologist Jean-Martin Charcot in 1868.
•MS is widely believed to be an autoimmune disorder, but the cause or causes are unknown. There are a number of theories about what might trigger the disease, including exposure to a virus in childhood; exposure to tobacco smoke; lack of the female sex hormone prolactin, which plays a role in the development of myelin; and vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D may play a role in MS because it helps to construct the interior layer of blood vessels.
•Despite the long-held assumption that MS is an autoimmune disorder, new research suggests it is actually a vascular disease triggered by a buildup of iron in the brain due to problems in blood flow.

John McCain Puts Obama in his Place

Today durring the Healthcare Summit Senator Jon McCain spoke about broken campain pledge:

Bloom Box an energy miracle

Yesterday Bloom Energy Corporation announced their Bloom Energy Server, a patented solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology that provides a cleaner, more reliable, and more affordable alternative to both electric grid as well as traditional renewable energy sources. The Bloom Energy Server provides distributed power generation, allowing customers to efficiently create their own electricity onsite. The Bloom Energy Server is distinct in four primary ways: it uses lower cost materials, provides unmatched efficiency in converting fuel to electricity, has the ability to run on a wide range of renewable or traditional fuels, and is more easily deployed and maintained. Unlike traditional renewable energy technologies, like solar and wind, which are intermittent, Bloom's technology can provide renewable power 24/7. Each Bloom Energy Server provides 100 kilowatts (kW) of power in roughly the footprint of a parking space. Each system generates enough power to meet the needs of approximately 100 average U.S. homes or a small office building. For more power, customers simply deploy multiple Energy Servers side by side. The modular architecture allows customers to start small and 'pay as they grow'.

In an interview with “60 Minutes,” Bloom Energy cofounder K.R. Sridhar said he anticipated that within the next decade Bloom could sell units big enough to power the average American home for about $3,000.

Here is a video of their announcement. A Peek inside the bloombox:
